The 2CH-RS485-ETH is a dedicated dual-port RS485 IoT gateway specifically engineered for high-density industrial environments. It acts as a comprehensive serial server, Modbus gateway, MQTT gateway, and RS485-to-JSON edge converter all in one ruggedized unit.

Ultra-Compact DIN-Rail Design

It adopts an innovative DIN-rail mounting chassis with 2 independent RS485 ports. Compared with traditional desktop serial servers, the width is only about 1/4 of the original size, which greatly solves the space limitation problem for crowded control panels. It is powered by a secure 9~24V DC terminal block input.

Technical FAQ & Troubleshooting

How does my SCADA software route queries separately to Port 1 and Port 2?
In TCP Server mode the 2CH-RS485-ETH creates a separate local TCP port for each physical RS485 channel. For example, Port 1 could listen on TCP 4196 and Port 2 could listen on TCP 4197. Your SCADA just points its IP connection at the specific TCP port number to make sure data only goes to the targeted RS485 loop.
It’s very compact. Will it overheat if I mount it inside a sealed outdoor control panel?
No. The enclosure is molded from a specialized high-temperature flame-retardant alloy plastic. Laboratory testing guarantees no casing deformation up to 110°C, and the internal ICs are certified to operate continuously in environments reaching 85°C.
Does the “Multi-Host” feature prevent RS485 collision if two masters poll at the same time?
Yes. Because RS485 is a half-duplex bus, simultaneous polling typically causes a crash. Our gateway solves this by buffering the incoming Ethernet TCP requests from multiple masters and dispatching them sequentially to the serial bus, effectively preventing data collision and timeout errors.
