Industrial LoRa Modems
Point-to-Point Wireless RS232/485 to LoRa Converter
Valtoris engineers robust industrial LoRa modems and point-to-point wireless gateways for environments where cellular coverage ends. Equipped with the Semtech SX1287 chipset, our devices deliver highly stable, low-power data transmission up to 8km (Line-of-Sight).
Crucial Selection Guide: Must Be Deployed in Pairs
Our industrial LoRa adapters act as transparent point-to-point bridges and must be purchased and deployed in pairs. We have two main categories to match your network topology:
- For Serial-to-Serial Extension (RS485/232 to LoRa to RS485/232): We recommend deploying: [ VT-LR600 ] (Field Node) + [ VT-LR600 ] (Control Node).
- For Serial-to-Ethernet Integration (RS485/232 to LoRa to TCP/IP): Need to connect remote serial sensors to your LAN/Cloud? We recommend: [ VT-LR600 ] (Field Node) + [ VT-LR601 ] (Ethernet Gateway).

Explore the wide range of applications for our LoRa Modem for reliable long-range data communication. Perfect for linking sensors deployed in industrial automation, environmental monitoring and IoT networks across large or difficult to wire areas.

Smart Livestock Farming
LoRa DTU provides long-range and reliable connectivity for smart livestock farming. It wirelessly transmits data from health sensors and location tags over large pastures, enabling efficient herd management.

Smart Street Lighting
Our LoRa Modem provides the low-power backbone for smart street lighting networks. It enables remote monitoring of lamp status and energy consumption across entire city blocks.

Smart Greenhouse & Agriculture
LoRa Wireless Modems We use LoRa Wireless Modems to gather data from PLCs on greenhouse temperature and humidity over long distances so we can centrally control the climate without having to buy expensive cellular plans.
Customer Success Stories
“Deploying Valtoris LoRa devices across our remote ranch for livestock tracking was the right decision. The long-range connectivity eliminated dead zones, and the low power consumption means we haven’t changed batteries in over a year. Their team helped us tailor the setup, which was crucial for our rough terrain.”
“Integrating Valtoris LoRa Modems into our smart streetlight pilot transformed our maintenance efficiency. We now get instant fault alerts and can monitor energy use per lamp. This has led to a 30% reduction in nightly patrol costs and faster response times.”
Engineered for Real Remote Sites
We design our LoRa Modem for places where cellular coverage ends and power outlets are scarce. Its 8km range and low power draw mean you can monitor water levels in a distant field for years, without cellular plans or frequent battery swaps.
We Help You Get Connected
If your sensors aren’t talking, we don’t send you a PDF and walk away. Our support helps with pairing, configuration, and integrating with your existing Modbus devices until data flows reliably from your field to your screen.
Built to Fit Your System
If you need a different connector, a custom housing, or specific firmware to match your legacy PLC, we’ll adapt the LoRa device in our OEM/ODM process. Your project isn’t standard, and your solution shouldn’t have to be either.
Lower Total Cost of Operation
The upfront price is clear, but the real saving is in zero monthly fees, reduced site visits, and a connection that lasts. By choosing a license-free LoRa network, you invest in a data layer that gets more valuable over time.

Frequently Asked Questions
I am using LoRa to transmit Modbus RTU, but my SCADA system keeps showing “Timeout” errors. How do I fix this?
A: This is the most common issue when migrating from wired RS485 to LoRa. High Spreading Factors drastically increase your latency. You must manually increase the polling timeout setting in your SCADA/PLC to accommodate this radio latency (typically to 1000ms+).
My sensors are only 500 meters away, but the connection keeps dropping. Why isn’t it reaching the promised 8km?
A: The 8km range assumes a clear Line-of-Sight. In real factory environments, dense metal racks and concrete walls cause severe signal fading. To fix this, elevate your antennas, use higher-gain fiberglass antennas, and never leave the antenna inside a sealed metal control cabinet.
For remote pumping stations, should I choose LoRa or a 4G Cellular Router?
A: If you go past the 8km line of sight limit you need to go to a cellular solution. It all depends on your data payload:
For basic Modbus telemetry: For sending serial sensor data only (e.g. tank levels, pressure), deploy an Industrial 4G DTU. It works just like your LoRa node, but uses cellular towers to transmit, giving you unlimited range.
For high-bandwidth applications: If your remote site also requires Ethernet access for IP cameras (CCTV) or remote PLC programming, you must upgrade to an Industrial 4G Cellular Router to handle the high data throughput.
