6-Port Industrial EtherCAT Switch (1-In-5-Out Junction)

The 6-Port Industrial EtherCAT Switch (VT-SW6EC) is a hardware-level junction module that transforms linear fieldbus constraints into flexible star or tree topologies. It has 1 input and 5 output 100Mbps ports and uses a dedicated EtherCat slave controller for nanosecond delay and accurate Distributed Clocks (DC) synchronization.

1-In, 5-Out: Build Star & Tree Topologies

Illustration of 1-In, 5-Out Star and Tree Topologies for EtherCAT wiring

Break free from rigid daisy-chains. The VT-SW6EC acts as a central junction with 1 input and 5 outputs. This allows you to split the EtherCAT network into five independent drop-lines, drastically simplifying cabinet wiring for multi-axis machines and remote I/O islands.

Zero Jitter: Hardware Distributed Clocks (DC)

Diagram showing Hardware Distributed Clocks (DC) synchronization and zero jitter processing

Unlike standard switches that buffer packets, this module uses a dedicated EtherCAT Slave Controller to process frames on-the-fly. It guarantees nanosecond transmission delays and perfect Distributed Clocks (DC) synchronization, ensuring your high-speed servo drives never trigger following errors.

Foolproof Power: Non-Polarity DC9~60V / AC24V

Close-up of the foolproof, non-polarity DC9~60V and AC24V power terminal block

Designed for the realities of field installation. The top terminal block accepts an ultra-wide DC9~60V or AC24V input. Its completely non-polarity circuitry means accidental reverse wiring will not damage the switch, preventing costly downtime.

Narrow 46mm Footprint & IP40 Armor

Dimensions showing the compact 46mm footprint and rugged IP40 aluminum housing

Cabinet space is premium. Measuring just 46mm wide, this IP40-rated aluminum switch packs 6 ports into a tiny DIN-rail footprint. Fanless thermal design guarantees flawless operation from freezing -40°C to scorching +75°C.

If I unplug one of the 5 output branches, will it crash the entire EtherCAT network?
No, your network remains safe. This is a major advantage of using a dedicated hardware junction. If a technician unplugs port 3 for maintenance, the internal EtherCAT ASIC automatically closes the logical ring in microseconds. The master controller will register the missing node, but outputs 1, 2, 4, and 5 will continue operating with perfect synchronization.
Does this junction provide “E-Bus” power to downstream slave devices via the RJ45 cable?
No, it transmits data only. Do not confuse this junction with a modular I/O power coupler. The VT-SW6EC only forwards standard EtherCAT data frames. All slave devices (sensors, I/O blocks, servo amplifiers) connected to its 5 output branches must be powered by their own localized DC power supplies.
