Will the router operate directly on standard 24VDC control cabinet power?
Yes. The VT-LTE500 supports a wide range of input voltage from 9-36 VDC. 5-pin terminal block included to wire directly to your existing 12V or 24V DC switching power supply inside the PLC control panel, no external step down converter required.
I need to install this inside a sealed steel enclosure. How do I get cellular reception?
The steel cabinets create a Faraday cage, stopping RF signals. The router comes with standard SMA female connectors for the antennas. For reliable 4G connectivity you will need to use external antennas with extension cables (such as magnetic mount or bulkhead antennas) and route them to the outside of your metal enclosure.
Does the package include the necessary DIN-rail mounting hardware?
Yes. The device comes with a standard 35mm DIN-rail mounting bracket, pre-attached to the back of the metal housing. It can be plugged into industrial racks right out of the box.
Can I configure a custom APN for my carrier’s private M2M cellular network?
Absolutely. The router’s web-based management UI allows you to manually input custom APN (Access Point Name), username, and password credentials. This ensures full compatibility with IoT/M2M SIM cards and private cellular networks provided by operators like AT&T, Verizon, or Vodafone.
