No. The VT-SW5GPN pairs a 14Gbps non-blocking backplane with a 2Mbit packet buffer. Even when two uncompressed GigE cameras blast 9kByte jumbo frames simultaneously, the internal QoS instantly elevates PROFINET RT cyclic packets to the top of the exit queue.
Why can’t I find the VT-SW5GPN in my TIA Portal or STEP 7 hardware catalog?
Because it is a transparent Layer 2 device. As an unmanaged switch, it is invisible to the IO-Controller’s IP scan. You do not need a GSDML file or an IP subnet assignment. Simply plug it inā€”it forwards standard Real-Time frames and LLDP topology packets natively.
