Application
Bi-Directional transmission serial interface mutual conversion

Dimensions

Engineered for legacy device integration, this industrial passive RS232 to RS485 adapter enables bidirectional serial communication without external power dependencies. It utilizes a rugged flange-mount metal enclosure and built-in TVS diode protection to ensure reliable data transmission within space-constrained control panels.

Bi-Directional transmission serial interface mutual conversion

Interface | EIA/TIA RS232C/RS485 standard |
Electric interface | RS232C—DB9 female head (hole-type) RS485—3PIN flange head |
Operation mode | asynchronous half-duplex |
Transmission medium | normal line, twisted-pair or shield line |
Transmission rate | 300~230400bps |
Transmission distance | 15m (RS232C) 1200m (RS485) |
Transmission protocol | transparency |
Operating temperature | – 40 ℃ to 85 ℃ |
Humidity | 5~95%RH |
Signal | RS232—TXD, RXD, GND. RTS and CTS internal short-circuit. RS485—485A, 485B, GND |
Capable of converting TXD and RXD signals from RS232 serial ports into balanced half duplex RS485 signals without the need for an external power supply. It can directly steal electricity from the 3rd pin of the RS232 port, and send a request (RTS) through the 7th pin. The 4-pin data terminal is ready (DTR) to provide auxiliary power to RS232 to RS485. The RS232 flow control pin is internally short circuited to achieve automatic flow control.
