DIN-Rail Industrial 4G LTE Router

Hardware & Enclosure Architecture
  • Native DIN-Rail Integration: Designed with a standard 35mm buckle, no custom mounting brackets needed in crowded control cabinets.
  • Rugged Industrial Build: Extruded aluminum enclosure offers excellent heat dissipation and EMI shielding, operating from -40°C to +85°C.
  • High-Density Edge Processing: A powerful 32-bit industrial CPU ensures zero latency encryption of complex VPN tunnels or routing of dense SCADA telemetry.
Networking & Cyber Security
  • Advanced Wi-Fi Topologies: Beyond standard AP/Client modes, the router natively supports 802.11s Mesh Networking for self-healing facility coverage, and 802.11r Fast Roaming to ensure zero packet loss for moving assets like AGVs.
  • Automated Wired-to-4G Failover: The internal logic is continuously monitoring the WAN link. In the event of a physical internet failure, traffic seamlessly switches to the cellular backup, guaranteeing total SCADA continuity.
  • Enterprise-Grade Cryptography: Reject plain port forwardings. Built-in VPN clients mathematically hide your PLCs from Shodan scanners and public botnets.
Will mounting the VT-LTE400 inside a closed metal control panel affect the 4G and Wi-Fi signals?
Absolutely. A sealed metal control cabinet acts as a Faraday cage, destroying RF signals. The VT-LTE400 utilizes standard 50Ω SMA external antenna interfaces. If you are installing inside a metal box, do not use the standard rubber-duck antennas. Specify our magnetic bulkhead antennas to get the signal safely outside the enclosure.
Is the 4G CAT1 bandwidth sufficient for live CCTV video surveillance?
The VT-LTE400 is meticulously optimized for highly reliable, deterministic IoT telemetry (Modbus TCP, MQTT). While the 10Mbps/5Mbps throughput is massive overkill for PLC polling and SCADA data, continuous multi-channel HD video streaming will bottleneck. For heavy CCTV applications, consult our engineering team for localized fiber or Wi-Fi bridge solutions.
How do I connect legacy PLCs that only have RS485 or RS232 ports to this Ethernet router?
You will deploy one of our Serial-to-Ethernet Gateways alongside the router. The gateway actively translates your legacy serial protocol (Modbus RTU) into Modbus TCP, injecting it into the VT-LTE400’s LAN port to be encrypted and shipped to the cloud.
Will I lose critical telemetry packets during the automatic wired-to-4G failover?
The hardware level switchover takes milliseconds. But there is a small time window where the TCP sockets need to be rebuilt. To achieve mathematically zero data loss, configure your edge SCADA software or MQTT clients with local buffer-and-forward (QoS) logic that perfectly matches the hardware redundancy of your router.
Can I use this router strictly as a local Wi-Fi bridge for my PROFINET PLCs without using a 4G SIM card?
Yes, absolutely. Many of our customers deploy the VT-LTE400 purely for its robust Layer 2 Transparent Bridging (WDS) and 802.11s Mesh capabilities to replace physical Ethernet or festoon cables on the factory floor. The 4G cellular function can simply be disabled or left un-provisioned.
